Abstract: In 2024, the Rarities Committee of the Slovak Ornithological Society/BirdLife Slovakia reviewed 57 records, of which 41 were accepted in category A, 12 in category D, and three in category E. One record was not accepted. Four species – Bonelli’s Eagle (Aquila fasciata) (recorded in 2023), Sardinian Warbler (Curruca melanocephala), Subalpine Warbler (Curruca cantillans), and Isabelline Wheatear (Oenanthe isabellina) – were documented for the first time in Slovakia, with each species represented by a single record of one individual. Among the rare species observed in Slovakia in 2024, the most interesting were: one record of a single Pink-footed Goose (Anser brachyrhynchus), one record of a single Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola), three records/probably two ind. of Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica), one record of a single Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea), one record of a single Long-tailed Jaeger (Stercorarius longicaudus), two records/two ind. of Great Northern Loon (Gavia immer), one record of a single Great White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus), one record of a single Black-winged Kite (Elanus caeruleus), two records/two ind. of Yellow-browed Warbler (Phylloscopus inornatus) and one record of a single Cirl Bunting (Emberiza cirlus). The Rarities Committee accepted observations primarily from 2024, but also reviewed notable records from 2015, 2019, 2022 and 2023. For example, these included one record of a single Brant Goose (Branta bernicla), one record of a single Pectoral Sandpiper (Calidris melanotos) and two records/two ind. of Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus). Until December 31, 2024, 380 bird species had been recorded in Slovakia, 234 of which are breeders. The updated list of species and subspecies subject to reporting to the Rarities Committee of the Slovak Ornithological Society/BirdLife Slovakia, as well as the English version of the form template, is available on the following website: http://www.vtaky.sk/stranka/50-Faunisticka-komisia.html
